A. OG Canvas Rucksack with OD Trim & Straps, Shoulder Straps are not padded, Small Open-top compartment next to your back, 3 Exterior Pockets, Not designed for a Frame, 2 Tie-Strings at Bottom-Back of Pack. Small Cotton Label inside with "INSPECTED" & other Characters on it, High-Quality Hardware, Ends of straps are shellacked (no metal tips), Main compartment drawstring missing, EC+

(I found a similar “INSPECTION” tag in a piece of Tigerstripe)

( Update in February 2004: another source said he had seen similar Hang-Labels

on Tiger Stripe Items and he thought it might be a “SOG” Ruck(?) )

( Update from a Veteran in February 2006: “.......issued and worn by the SF and the CIDG in the late-1960s and were made in Okinawa. I started using the rucksack on my second patrol after using the tube version. It rode better on my back and because we were on 3-day patrols, I didn’t carry much....”
