Dental Programs and Specialties in Canada
The Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada reviews and accredits or recognizes the education programs in the nine dental specialties. Please see the school indicated for information on each dental specialty.
The deadline for application to faculties of dentistry is usually 11 or 12 months before the admission date. Therefore, prospective students should start the application process at least 18 months before the desired admission date. Some faculties of dentistry have two admissions each year; others have only one. Check their website for admission dates.
Due to the limited number of seats available for international students in dental programs and specialties in Canada, few students actually succeed in gaining admission.

How to Apply

  1. All faculties of dentistry in Canada now require online application. When you apply online, please follow the online directions. Please take notice of the additional documents that are required.

  1. Send a copy of the following by mail or email (office@saudibureau.org): a copy of the completed online application, your Financial Guarantee and the signed Consent, Authorization and Release form (to authorize the Cultural Bureau to follow up your application).

  2. You must pay your application/registration fee. Please note that your application will not be considered until the application fee is received. Usually, the online application provides a space where you can enter your credit card number. The application fee will be charged to your credit card. You can also send application fee by bank draft or money order payable to the university to which you are applying.

  3. The website of each faculty of dentistry will inform you what additional documents are required to process your application (such as official transcripts, letters of references, curriculum vitae, etc.). Please note that the required documents are not the same for all faculties of dentistry. Assemble all required documents and send them in one package to the address provided by the university to which you are applying. If you will be paying application/registration fee by money order or bank draft, you should include it with your application package.

  4. All faculties of dentistry require a TOEFL score or its equivalent. You must meet the TOEFL requirements. The faculties of dentistry do not offer “conditional acceptance” until you meet their TOEFL score requirement. If you want to go to one of the French language universities, you must also have proficiency in French language.

  5. Related dental organizations in Canada with useful information are the Canadian Dental Association (http://www.cda-adc.ca/) and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (http://www.rcdc.ca/).
