Reread the story making sure to point to each word; see if students can identify the words that rhyme (Dan/man/can; crane/train; trees/seas)
Have a student use the magnifying glass to come up and find a word on one of the pages. Remind them that in order to find where the word starts and ends they should look for the ‘finger’ spaces between words. Give a few students a turn to find a word with the magnifying glass.
Have students colour their story wheel and cut it out. Put the wheels together and have students use the pictures on the wheel to retell the story.
