t for students and drivers/chaperones ($20)). Checks should be made payable to Holy Spirit.
What to Bring/Wear:
Please bring a lunch, labeled, in a Ziploc bag. Please send in 2 drinks, labeled. You may also bring a snack, if desired. There are no concessions available at the site.
Light clothing that will dry quickly works best (no jeans). The children may wear their bathing suits under their play clothes (girls) or as their shorts (boys). Be aware that you will have to step in ankle deep water at times. Water shoes and old tennis shoes work best. For people that wear crocs, flip-flops, or sandals, rocks can be a problem. Some people wear tall boots and change into other shoes for playing on the playground after lunch. You may bring a change of clothes, if desired. Please make sure to mark bags if you do bring extra clothing.
T-shirts are available on-site for $15. Please send money in a marked Ziploc bag or envelope if you wish for your child to purchase a t-shirt. Each child will bring home their own bag of the Shark Teeth that he/she collected.
For more information, you may contact us or visit their website at http://sharktoothcreek.com/. This link is available on Mrs. Turner’s class website under Field Trips as well.
If you would like to drive/chaperone, please complete and return this portion of the form. We will send further forms and information that need to be completed/returned.
I, _________________________, have updated Youth Protection 1 Training and would like to drive/chaperone students on the Shark Tooth Creek field trip. I can drive _________ children buckled in the back seat(s) of my vehicle.
Please make sure you carefully read over the Chaperone/Driver
form before signing and returning it. Additional copies are available on the FIELD TRIP section of Mrs. Turner’s class website.
We will need 2 drivers from each room to bring a cooler for lunches and drinks. Please let us know if you would like to provide a cooler.
Although there are picnic tables available at the pavilion, we would like for you to bring a picnic blanket or towels as well. Many people prefer to sit in the grassy area for lunch.
You WILL get wet. Please dress for walking in a creek.
Please stay with your group at all times to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip for everyone.
We will leave school by 8:15 a.m. and return before dismissal. Please park your vehicle in the parking spaces rather than by the sidewalk since it will be so close to arrival time. We will meet you on the front steps. You will receive directions and your list of children at that time.
Please use the directions on the print out you are given rather than entering Shark Tooth Creek into your GPS. If needed, please call Amy Turner at 2924058.
Upon arrival, everyone will gather at the Pavilion. Mr. Ken will go over history, rules, etc… for the day. Then, everyone will load up on the Shark Tooth Creek Express (covered trailer) and ride down to the creek. After about an hour and a half in the creek, you will head back up to the pavilion for lunch. After lunch, students may play on the playground. The adults should all go up to supervise.
Make sure the children turn their bags of shark teeth in to the teachers before leaving to make sure none get left at the pavilion or in cars.
