Introduction to Assistive Technology – Online Course
Assignment #9 (20 points)
To better understand how someone uses assistive technology to live independently, contact an assistive technology user and interview them about the technology they use, how it helps them, and where they obtain their assistive technology information and training. If you do not have access to an AT user, you can interview an assistive technology professional or someone who works with people with disabilities (i.e. someone who works at a Center for Independent Living). If your interview subject is someone who works with AT or people with disabilities, ask questions regarding their experience working with AT users. Write up a 2 to 4 page summary of their answers.
Potential Questions can include:
What type of assistive technology do you use?
How does it help you live independently?
How long have you been an assistive technology user?
Where do you obtain your information on assistive technology?
Where do you obtain your assistive technology training?
