It is with much enthusiasm that we invite you to a new invite that will be held at the Columbia University Medical Center – “Getting into Dental School: 101” seminar hosted by the Columbia American Student Dental Association (ASDA).
This new seminar is organized by students of the College of Dental Medicine for the students of the New York City metropolitan area interested in a professional career in health care and learning about the process of getting into dental school.
The seminar will be a comprehensive exhibit of various aspects of the dental school life. A few of the presentations will include information from our generous sponsors – Kaplan and Colgate. You will be presented with information from the people at Kaplan regarding their study materials and what they offer to prospective students. In addition, Colgate will present about their role in the dentist practitioner’s life not only in practice but also at the student level.
Throughout the day, you will be broken into smaller groups for small seminars hosted by students from Columbia’s College of Dental Medicine. Topics will include: DAT, the application, and a mock interview room. Most importantly, we will be there as a support network to help answer any of your questions. In addition, we look forward to showing you our facility, here, at Columbia.
This is a unique educational experience and excellent networking opportunity to meet with established people in the field, current dental students, and your fellow pre-dental peers.
The seminar will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 at the Hammer Health Sciences Center, Room 401 (701 West 168th St, New York, NY, 10032). This seminar will last from 8:15 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and is free for all attending. Refreshments will be served. Dress code is business casual. Please feel free to distribute the attached flyer to your fellow students who may be interested in learning more about dentistry as a career.
