Nov. 2 — 27. ‘Black Flags 33’, re the 33 regions affected by the genocide in Ukraine, displayed at the Tribute to Human Rights Statue on Elgin at Lisgar.

 

Nov. 5, Sat. Ukrainian Night Dinner & Dance, at Ukr Catholic Shrine, Green Valley Cresc. Cocktails 6 PM, Dinner, Entertainment (Svitanok Dancers). Music- DJ Peter Zabchuk.


Nov. 6, Sun. 7 - 9 pm.  Canada Ukrainian Parliamentary Program.  Reception and concert of Ukrainian songs and dances by students of CUPP. Nov 12, Sat. 7 pm and 10 pm. Documentary film “Zhyvi / The Living” by Serhiy Bukovsky re the Genocidal Famine of 1932-33 in Ukraine, and Gareth Jones. Sponsored by the Free Thinking Film Society. Admission $20. At the Bronson Centre.  www.freethinkingfilmfest.ca

Nov. 17, Thurs. 7 p.m. UCC, UCPBA, and UNF present the Ottawa premiere of the film ‘Genocide revealed; famine-genocide in Soviet Ukraine, 1932-33’. Historical documentary, winner of many awards. Guest speaker: Producer/ Director Yuriy Luhovy. At the Mayfair Theatre, Bank at Sunnyside. Admission $ 10.
Nov. 20, Sun.  12 – 3 pm. Christmas Bazaar at the Assumption Ukrainian Orthodox parish, 1000 Byron Ave.  Ukrainian handicrafts, bake sale. Ukrainian hot lunch available. And more. Info: Liza Malarek 613-830-1472

Nov 26, Sat. 2:30 pm. A dedication, with a short program, candle lighting, and laying of a wreath for the victims of genocide at the Tribute to Human Rights Statue on Elgin at Lisgar. At 7:32 p.m. pause for a moment of silence

to honour the memory of the victims of the Holodomor. Light a candle of remembrance in your home.
