The Delhi Police celebrated its 64th Raising Day today. To mark the occasion, a grand parade was organized at the New Police Line parade ground Kingsway Camp. Hon’ble Lt. Governor Delhi Sh. Tajender Khanna was the Chief Guest took the salute and inspected the parade comprising contingents of the Anti Riot, Armed Police, Women Police, Traffic Police, Commandos, Traffic Squad, Traffic Motor Cycle Squad, PCR mobile police post, Tourist Police, Rakshak( Bullet- Proof) Vajra, SWAT, Dog Squad, Mounted Police and Delhi Police Band. The Chief Guest presented 38 medals for Police Medal for Gallantry, President Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service to the officers and men of Delhi Police. Smt. Neelam Sharma received Police Medal for Gallantry on behalf of her husband late HC Satish Kumar. The trophy of best police station was awarded to Police Station Kamla Market while PS Paschim Vihar and Vasant Kunj bagged second and third place respectively.
Details of the officers and men who were decorated with the Medals are as follow :-

Speaking on the occasion, the Lt. Governor, Delhi congratulated all officers and men of Delhi Police for making unprecedented security arrangements for ensuring incident free Commonwealth Games. It would go a long way in the history of Delhi Police. He also complimented Delhi Police for making round the clock security arrangement in connection with Conference of Chief Ministers recently concluded in Delhi. Hon’ble Lt.Governor emphasized the importance of training in various disciplines like Commando, Bomb disposal, Intelligence gathering etc. in order enhance the ability and capability of the personnel. He appreciated Jt CPs/ Training for conducting various training programmes in this respect.
Hon’ble Lt. Governor underline that Delhi being the Capital of the country faces constant threat and remains on target of anti social elements. Delhi Police has to remain alert all time to ensure peace in the city. He appreciated and thanked Commissioner of Police, Delhi for initiatives taken to provide safety and security to women, senior citizen and children etc. He especially admired the strengthening of Beat system, introducing Women Helpline, Women Desk in Police Station and deployment of women staff in North Campus DU.
Stressing the importance of people’s cooperation, he laid emphasis on more friendly relations between police and public where a citizen can approach the police unhesitatingly and share information. The cooperation of people is of paramount importance to check the crime.
The Lt. Governor, Delhi congratulated Delhi Police personnel and their family members on the occasion of raising day. The Commissioner of Police, Delhi, senior officers, retired police officers including,Sh. Subash Tandan, Raja Vijay Karan, Sh. T.R. Kakkar, Sh. Ajai Raj Sharma, Sh. R.S. Gupta, Dr.K.K. Paul, and family members of police personnel were present on the occasion.

                                Dreaded Proclaimed offenders nabbed


The Special Cell team led by Inspector Pankaj Sood have apprehended one Pramod Kumar @ Moody (aged 25 years) r/o Nihal Vihar, Delhi on 14th Feb 2011.  Pramod Kumar is involved in a case in the year 2008 when he alongwith his associates attacked one property dealer Nihal Singh of Nangloi on the instructions of Umesh @ Babu.  In this incident Pramod Kumar carrying a sword attacked Nihal Singh and was subsequently arrested but was not attending the court and evading the trial process.  After securing bail in this case Pramod Kumar joined the desperate gang of robbers led by Raju @ Ganja of Nihal Vihar and alongwith other gang members committed a dacoity on 28th Jan 2009 in Manesar, Gurgaon.  In this incident five gang members including Pramod Kumar chased a car, stopped it forcibly near “Krishna Tea Stall” Panchgaon, Manesar, Gurgaon and injured the occupant and robbed him of Rs.50,000/-.  In this case Pramod Kumar was arrested but evaded the trial process and had been declared a Proclaimed Offender


Another team of Special Cell led by Insp Lalit Mohan and Insp. Hridaya Bhushan have apprehended on 12.2.11 a dreaded criminal Krishan Kumar @ Bihari r/o Kapashera from Mahipalpur Chowk, Delhi on 12.02.2011 who was wanted in a case of Murder and was absconding for more than one year.  In this case one Vikas r/o Village Kapashera, New Delhi was shot dead by some unknown assailants on 16.9.09.  During investigation accused persons namely Vinay and Dipesh @ Jonty residents of Village Kapashera, New Delhi were arrested but the prime accused Krishan Behari was absconding.  In this incident,  the brother of Krishan Kumar @ Bihari namely Manish was having dispute with one Vikas over the issue of befriending girls.  This petty issue had led to many scuffles earlier also. However, on 10.9.09 Krishan Bihar alongwith his associates shot dead Vikas in purani Veer Bazar Wali Gali, Kapashera and injured another person namely Satpal.  He has been evading arrest in this case ever since & had been declared Proclaimed Offender.

Staff of Police Station Moti Nagar has busted a gang of notorious burglars. Two gang members were arrested. The King pin Hari Kishan was a personal driver in the house where they committed burglary with their arrest a sensational night burglary was worked out. Diamond & gold Jewellery worth lakhs of rupees, Rs. 1 lakh cash and other valuable documents were recovered.

2- Puran S/o Madan Singh Rawat R/o H.No. 2116/A Gali No.-8, Prem Nagar, Delhi, Age- 21 yrs.

A sensational burglary of cash and Jewelry has taken place on 13.02.2011 in the area of PS Moti Nagar West District. The sensitive burglary has raised sense of insecurity among the general public. Insp. Raj Kumar, SHO/Moti Nagar with his perfection in developing criminal intelligence alongwith his team zero down the involvement of the personal driver namely Hari Kishan who was not cming for work since that day and his friend Puran. The information was further developed and all probable hideouts of the driver and his friend were searched. On 15.02.2011, specific information was received by Insp. Rajkumar/SHO Moti Nagar that both will be coming near DTC Bus stop opposite Kirti Nagar Metro Station, Delhi at about 08.30pm to dispose off the stolen articles. On this information, a raiding party  under the supervision of Shri J.K . Sharma ACP/Rajouri Garden consisting of Insp. Rajkumar/SHO Moti Nagar, Insp. Rajkumar, SI Ram Pratap, HC Rajesh, HC Narendra Ct Shri Ram was constituted  and deployed near DTC Bus Depot opp. Kirti Nagar Metro Station, Delhi. At about 8.30pm, two persons came near DTC Bus Depot opp. Kirti Nagar who were identified to be members of the gang and were apprehended on the instance of informer. They disclosed their names as (1). Hari Kishan S/o Shri Late Shri Om Prakash R/o H.No. 2103/ 1 B Gali No.-4, Prem Nagar, Delhi, Age- 25 yrs. (2)Puran S/o Madan Singh Rawat R/o H.No. 2116/A Gali No.-8, Prem Nagar, Delhi, Age- 21 yrs. On sustained interrogation, Hari Kishan and Puan disclosed that they have committed burglary of Cash and Jewelry from F-31 A Moti Nagar registered vide FIR No. 37/11 u/s 457/380 IPC at PS Moti Nagar , Wet District. Both the accused persons were arrested and on their instance Cash and Jewellery were recovered.

During interrogation Hari Kihan & Puran disclosed that they belong to poor economic background. Hari Kishan studied up to VIIIth class and left study due to sudden demise of his father he took the responsibility of his family. He learnt driving and started working as driver. He was working with Anil Kohli (complainant) for last eight years and was getting Rs. Eight thousand as monthly salary. His life was running smooth but the turning point came when he met his old friend Puran who lost his job because he was an addict of liquor and was in a habit of committing petty thefts. He spends his earnings on wine and women. He committed petty thefts where he works. When it came in the notice of the owner he was ousted from the job. Due to this he became un employed and started asking for loans. Hari Kishan also a habitual drinker and in the company of Puran he also started taking drugs. Hari krishan was engaged to a girl and going to marry his in few months. Hari Kishan wants to gift some expensive jewellery to his fiancée and was also dreaming for a luxurious Honeymoon in Manali. On 13.02.2011 Both friends were drinking then Puran suggested for committing theft in the house of his Hari Kishan’s owner for full filling their requirements. Hari Kishan being a old servant knew the routine of the family . On the same day they committed the theft. Both of them were arrested and booty was recovered.
Staff involved in the good work is being rewarded suitably.

      With the arrest of Kuldeep (22 years) s/o Sube Ram r/o G-17, Mangolpuri Delhi, Ankit @ Sarvesh (19 years) s/o Ram Swaroop  r/o D-1/411, Sultanpuri, Delhi and Dhani Ram (32 years) s/o Shri Kishan r/o S-609, Mangolpuri, Delhi, the staff of PS Mangolpuri busted a gang of robbers and worked out a case of robbery.


      On 16/2/2011, Ct Surender 602/OD and Ct Yogender 667/OD were conducting patrolling in their beat at F block, Mangolpuri, Delhi. At about 9.30 PM, when they reached at F Block, MCD Park, they heard a noise of a boy and saw that three persons were running towards F block, Mangolpuri. The police party immediately rushed to the spot where they met one Chandan Kumar who told that he was coming from Industrial Area (Phase-II) and when he reached near MCD park, three persons robbed his mobile and cash on the point of knife. Immediately, the patrolling party swung into action and chased the accused persons along with complainant Chandan Kumar. After running of 100-150 meters, police party overpowered them and recovered robbed Rs. 220/-, one mobile phone and one button actuated knife used in the commission of crime. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 60/11 U/S 392/397/411/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act PS Mangolpuri, Delhi was registered and investigation taken up.


      During the course of interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they generally roam near Outer Ring Road and Peera Garhi Flyover to identify soft target that comes from Industrial Area alone. When the target reached near F block, MCD Park, they rob him on the point of knife.


  1. Kuldeep (22 years) s/o Sube Ram r/o G-17, Mangolpuri Delhi is a school dropout. He is unmarried and has father, mother, two brothers and two sisters in his family. His father is blind and has no control over him. He is unemployed and no source of income.


  1. Ankit @ Sarvesh (19 years) s/o Ram Swaroop r/o D-1/411, Sultanpuri, Delhi is a school dropout. He is unmarried and has father, mother, three brothers and two sisters in his family. His father is residing separately and has no control over him. He is habitual of consuming liquor daily. He is unemployed and no source of income.


  1. Dhani Ram (32 years) s/o Shri Kishan r/o S-609, Mangolpuri, Delhi  is illiterate. He is unmarried and has one elder brother in his family.  He is habitual of consuming liquor and drugs. He is unemployed and no source of income.


  1. Robbed Rs. 220/-

  2. Robbed mobile phone.

  3. One button actuated knife.
