PRESS RELEASE 19th February 2015
The BEGO International Sales Symposium 2015 focused on "Managing Complexity"
At the end of January the Bremen-based dental specialists BEGO invited guests to the 51st BEGO International Sales Symposium (BISS) in Bremen, Germany. More than 80 trade partners from 29 countries accepted the invitation from this long-standing family company which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. Interesting talks, exchanges on the latest issues in the dental world and product training were at the heart of this two-day trader get-together.
"We have been inviting our international trade partners to Bremen for over 50 years. And each year we get to welcome so many guests. Over the years the BISS has not only established itself as an important event for maintaining trade relations, but also as a kind of family get-together. After all, lots of our partners have been coming here for many years, in part in the second or third generation," explains Weiss. The motto of this year's meeting was handling complexity, which was a common thread running through the event.
Following the opening address by Christoph Weiss and Jürgen Schultze, Head of International Sales at BEGO Bremer Goldschlägerei, Joachim Weiss, the senior partner at BEGO looked back at "125 years of 'Partners in Progress'". Talks focusing on ideal positioning for the future, workshops on various issues in dentistry and presentations of new products from BEGO then followed. Dr.-Ing. Lars Vollmer, one of the leading economic thinkers of the new generation and book author, concluded the first day with his lecture "Wrong turn – why managers fail in complex situations".
The second day got under way with a talk by Prof. Dr. Michael Welling, the First Chairman of the German Bundesliga football club Rot-Weiss Essen, on the "Management of complexity in professional football clubs". As in past years, the presentation in the afternoon of the Wilhelm Herbst Awards for outstanding marketing and sales achievements for BEGO products was eagerly awaited. The BEGO trade partners Denon Dental Sp. z o.o., Bra-Š d.o.o. and MEGASTOM all received one of the coveted awards. A look at upcoming innovations and BEGO's activities at the International Dental Show (IDS) in March 2015, the world's leading trade fair for the dental industry in Cologne, completed the programme of events. Following the conference held in Bremen's Swissôtel, there was an opportunity to visit BEGO's production areas and other Bremen-based companies.
