5261L LUXAFLEX COUNTRYWOODS® SHUTTERS




1. GENERAL


This section relates to the supply and fixing of;

- Luxaflex Countrywood® shutters, a solid timber frame incorporating a series of horizontal louvres.

- options of hinged, bi-fold or sliding system.

Warranties

1.4 WARRANTY - MANUFACTURER/SUPPLIER


Provide a material manufacturer/supplier warranty:

2 years: Commercial Installation - For all components, including operating mechanisms and controls.

3 years: Domestic Installation - For all components, including operating mechanisms and controls.
- Provide this warranty on the manufacturer/supplier standard form.

- Commence the warranty from the date of installation.


Refer to the general section 1237 WARRANTIES for additional requirements.

1.5 QUALIFICATIONS


Work to be carried out by Accredited Luxaflex installers, refer www.luxaflex.co.nz

1.6 NO SUBSTITUTIONS


Substitutions are not permitted to any of the specified systems, components and associated products listed in this section.

Touch up paint, a spare blade and pivot pin are provided with each shutter.

Performance

1.11 FIRE HAZARD


Do not provide materials which, when subject to fire conditions, will emit excessive smoke or dangerous fumes.

1.12 EARLY FIRE HAZARD PROPERTIES


Early fire hazard properties of internal surface materials/systems when tested to NZBC C/AS1, Appendix C, Test Methods, must not exceed the following indices to NZBC C/AS1, Table 6.2.

2. PRODUCTS




2.1 COUNTRYWOODS® BASSWOOD TIMBER SHUTTERS - GENERALLY


Proprietary basswood shutters assembled with a solid timber frame incorporating a series of adjustable or fixed horizontal louvres. The adjustable louvres are operated with a tilt bar.

Shutter Panels are fitted as hinged, bi-fold or sliding.

2.2 COUNTRYWOODS® HINGED BASSWOOD TIMBER SHUTTERS


Standard hinged option is suitable for small to medium window widths. Shutter panels can be hinged with either left or right hand configurations.

2.3 COUNTRYWOODS® HINGED BI - FOLD BASSWOOD TIMBER SHUTTERS


Hinged bi -fold uses the standard hinged option with one panel bi-folding off another with either left or right hand configurations.

2.4 BI - FOLD ON TRACK COUNTRYWOODS® BASSWOOD TIMBER SHUTTERS


Hinged bi-fold panels operating on a track system.

2.5 COUNTRYWOODS® SLIDING (BY PASS) ON TRACK


Sliding panel system with top track and either a bottom track or bottom guides.

Solid basswood frame.

2.7 TILT BAR


Proprietary rod to adjust pitch of the shutter louvres.
Accessories

2.8 TOP AND BOTTOM TRACK


Proprietary track supplied as part of the bi-fold or sliding door package.

2.9 FLOOR GUIDES - SLIDING ON TRACK SYSTEM


Nylon floor guides. Rout a 16mm groove into the bottom of the panel to allow the panel to slide on the guide.

3. EXECUTION



Conditions

3.1 DELIVERY AND STORAGE


Handle and store shutters, operating equipment and accessories to avoid damage. Keep dry in transit, store clear of and on a level floor and cover for protection. Avoid distortion, compression, puncturing and damage to the materials. Do not use damaged or wet materials.

3.2 PRE-INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS


Ensure that conditions are suitable for the installation, including painting and flooring completed. Arrange for the programming of the work to suit required practice. To be site measured by accredited Luxaflex Installer. Refer to www.luxaflex.co.nz
Installation/application

3.3 INSTALLATION


Installation by an accredited Luxaflex installer.

3.4 INSTALL COMPONENTS


Fix all components to the manufacturer's requirements. Installation by an accredited Luxaflex Installer.
Completion

3.5 ROUTINE CLEANING


Carry out routine trade cleaning of this part of the work including periodic removal of all debris, unused materials and elements from the site.

3.6 DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED WORK


Replace damaged or marked elements where repair is not possible or will not be acceptable. Adjust operation of equipment and moving parts not working correctly.

Leave work to the standard required for following procedures.



3.7 PROTECTION


Installed products must be protected from water, dust etc. Protection provided by main site contractor.
Commissioning

3.8 FINAL INSPECTION AND TESTING


To be carried out by an accredited Luxaflex installer.
