Implant Site Development & Restorative Crown Lengthening

Dr. Sebastiano Andreana, Associate Professor, Restorative Dentistry
Director of Implant Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry, UB School of Dental Medicine

The course will focus on two main aspects of dentistry: indications to extraction, socket preservation and implant placement, versus maintaining the single tooth and perform endodontic and restorative procedures

Benefits of Attending

The course will elucidate on the benefits of:

  1. specific extraction techniques with the aim of preserving hard and soft tissues, ridge preservation and implant placement in respect to function and esthetics;

  2. surgical and endodontic and restorative procedures to maintain the natural tooth

  3. published long term data on either clinical approaches

At the completion of the course, you should be able to clinically evaluate all possible conditions that lead to either extract the tooth or saving it.

It is still a clinician’s dilemma to maintain a damaged tooth via endodontic, surgical and restorative procedures, versus extracting the tooth, maintaining soft and hard tissue for a successful replacement with an implant-supported restoration.
Data from the literature will be presented, and discussed. Furthermore, key references will be distributed to the participants.
