I am thankful for . . .


  • The taxes that I pay because it means that I have income.

  • The mess to clean after a party because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.

  • The clothes that fit a little too snug because it means that I have enough to eat.

  • My shadow who watches me work because it means that I am out in the sunshine.

  • A yard that needs tending, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means that I have a home.

  • All the complaining I hear about the government because it means that we have freedom of speech.

  • The spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means that I am capable of walking and I have been blessed with transportation.

  • My huge heating bill because it means I am warm.

  • The lady behind me in church who sings of key because it means I can hear.

  • The piles of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.

  • Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means that I have been capable of working hard.

  • The alarm that goes off early in the morning hours because it means that I am alive.

INMATE RESPONSES


I am thankful for being locked up because otherwise I might have been shot by now.
I am thankful for tears because it means I have a heart and feel love and pain.
I am thankful for mail because it means I have someone who loves and cares for me.
I am thankful for living in poverty because it means that I can appreciate the small things in life.
I am thankful for volunteers because it means I am worth something.
I am thankful for a family that sticks by me when I’m in need because it shows they care.
I am thankful for jail because it means I walk wit the Lord.
I am thankful God got me in jail because God kept me from hurting myself or someone else.
I am thankful that I came to jail because if I didn’t I wouldn’t realize how much I really don’t want to be here.
I am thankful for my family because it means I am not alone.
I am thankful for my mistakes because I know I’ve tried.
I am thankful for the relationship with my girlfriend because I have something worthwhile.
I am thankful God has delivered me from a life of drugs, crime, and alcohol because it means I have enough time to help others escape the evil one.
I am thankful for the support people five me even though I am having rough times.
I am thankful for my children.
I am thankful for the help that people try to give me.
I am thankful for the Lord watching over me.

I am thankful for:




  • The Lord waking my friends and family up this morning.

  • To the Lord for forgiving me and the world for the sins that we commit.

  • For my family and friends.

  • The people I am friends with who holler at me for getting into trouble cause it shows they care.

  • My dad contacting me so I can tell him that I forgive him.

  • Worrying about my daughter because it shows that I am able to love someone else.

  • My children’s grandmothers for taking care of my kids while I am here.

  • A 2nd chance with drug court.

  • Being in jail – helps one build up faith and strength – and a wake-up call to slow down.

  • My girl helped change 360



  • Having a child because it means I’m not sterile.

  • Breathing.

  • Having at least one supportive person in my life.

  • My family.

  • Emotions of sadness and loneliness because it means that I’m no longer medicating through drugs, alcohol or behavior.
