Inserting Behaviour Details

This feature enables you to display details of a pupil/student’s behaviour at any place in the report.
        1. Behaviour Points

To insert the number of behaviour points in the report, right-click in the text where you wish to insert it and select Behaviour Management | Behaviour Points. If no points have been awarded, zero is displayed.
        1. Achievement Points

To insert the number of achievement points in the report, right-click in the text where you wish to insert it and select Behaviour Management | Achievement Points. If no points have been awarded, zero is displayed.
      1. Inserting a Report Section

This feature of Individual Reports enables you, when designing the Individual Report in Microsoft® Word, to mark off one or more sections of the report. If you do this you are able to choose, when generating the report, to hide those sections of a pupil/student’s report that do not contain any results.

If you do choose to hide those sections, then when the system generates the report it will identify those Report Sections into which a result field has been inserted and will then see whether the result field has been populated with a result from the database. If no result exists in that Section for a particular pupil/student, the Section will not be displayed in the Individual Report.

If more than one result field has been inserted in a Report Section, then if at least one result exists, the Report Section will not be hidden. Instead, the results are displayed and a blank is inserted where a result does not exist.

  1. From within the Word document, right-click at the point you wish to mark as the beginning of the Report Section and select Report Section | Open from the pop-up menu.

The Report Section marker is inserted into the report and placed inside the << and >> tags.

  1. Right-click at the point you wish to mark as the end of the Report Section and select Report Section | Close from the pop-up menu.

Again, the Report Section marker is inserted into the report and placed inside the << and >> tags.

  1. Repeat this process to create as many Report Sections as you wish.

NOTE: Please do not insert Report Sections inside a table or a graph. For tables, you can use the Hide rows with no results check box, which is found on the Individual Report form.

      1. Inserting Results

To display a pupil/student result in a report, you need to select the aspect with which the required result is associated. You then need to filter the result either by result set or by date range.

When filtering by Date Range you have the option of leaving one or both of the From and To date fields clear. For example, if you leave both fields blank then effectively there is no Date Range filter, as all results in the Aspect are included in the search. If you have selected a Date Range, you need to choose whether the result displayed from the selected Date Range should be the most Recent, the Highest or the Lowest.

The relevant results will then be retrieved from the database and displayed in their generated report.

To insert a result in the results table:

  1. From within the Word document, delete the Insert Result Tag Here text from the cell into which you wish to insert a result.

  2. Right-click and select Insert Result from the pop-up menu to display the Result Selector.

This dialog enables you to select the aspect with which the result you wish to display is associated and to choose how to filter the search for that result.

The type of Aspect displayed (i.e. grades, Marks, etc.) can be restricted by selecting the Aspect Type from the drop-down list.

If required, filter the display further by selecting the required Categories. Click the + or symbols to expand and contract the list then select the check box adjacent to each required Category. The list of Aspects is restricted to only those Aspects associated with the selected Categories.

To quickly locate a particular Aspect, enter the first character(s) of the Aspect in the Searching for field and the first Aspect matching the character(s) typed is highlighted. Continue to enter characters until the Aspect you are searching for is highlighted.

  1. Click the required Aspect, which will then appear blue.

You now need to select the method to filter the result, either by Result Set or by Result Date.
