Exporting Results to an XML File

There are two ways in which to create a results Export file. You can export all pupils/student results that are associated with one or more selected result sets. This might be done, for example, to export particular End of Key Stage results. Alternatively, you can export pupil/students’ results using a customised filter. This will give you the opportunity to select the pupil/students whose results you wish to export and to filter the results by Aspects, date range and result sets.

  1. Select Routines | Data Out | Assessment | Export to display the first page of the Export wizard.

  1. Select the Export Results radio button, and then click the Next button to continue.

  1. Click the Field Browser button to display the Save As dialog. Select the folder in which you wish to save the export file and then enter a name for the Export file in the File Name field. Alternatively, you can select an existing file. If you choose to do this you will receive a warning message, as the new export file will overwrite the contents of this file.

  2. When you have entered a file name, click the Save button to return to the wizard.

The file name is displayed in the Select the file to export to field.

  1. If required, enter text in the Header comments for the export box. These comments are displayed during the corresponding import of this file.

  2. Click the Next button to continue.

The export procedure will now differ, according to the choice you make on this page.

If you wish to export only those pupil/student results associated with selected result sets, please read Exporting Results using Result Sets only.

If you wish to export results using a custom filter, please read Exporting Results using a Custom Filter.
