SCENE 1

(Instrumental Only)

On stage:




Characters come out to sing “A Christmas Carol.” As characters come in, those in Scene 2 go to spots on stage that is already set up.


SCENE 2

(Scrooge’s Office)

On stage:




Clerk’s tall desk (Coaches podium). On desk:

paper, pen, ink pot, Candle (burned down)

Scrooge’s chair and desk. On it: ledger Large

leather-bond ledgers. Coat rack: on it walking stick

Gold coins

Money-box

Safe containing coal scuttle

Safe with locking doors

Fireplace with one lump of coal

Bob’s coat-hat-scarf on coat rack












Personal:




Scrooge: watch-chain with keys, pocket watch, purse with money, ring on chain round neck

Nephew: fob watch


SCENE 3

(A Street in Cheapside, London)

Off Stage:




when Scrooge leaves the office---back stage breaks down front scene and sets up for Scene 4

(Scrooge’s Bedroom/Living Room)

On Stage:




The front set is moved to behind the curtains to create Scrooges home.

Bed w/ curtain

Bedside table. On it: alarm clock

Straight-backed chair

Fireplace: On it…cashbox, poker, bell, candle stick

Hat rack: On it…Scrooges Bedclothes



Personal:




Marley: great chain of cash-boxes, ledgers, keys, padlocks, etc.

Scrooge: Hot soup from Tom Jenkins

Christmas Past: Lorgnette (Eye Glasses with a handle)

SCENE 5

(Christmas Past)

On stage:




Little Fan

Young Ebenezer: with books and suitcase



Off stage:




Desk-chair: with bell, quill, ledger, money box filled with coins, Scale- scattered papers (Two Young Men-will bring in)

Ribbons (Party Guests-tied to wrists)

Punchbowl (Mrs. Fezziwig and Daughter)

Bouquet of flowers (Isabel) will place on desk before she leaves

(Scrooge’s Bedroom/Living Room)

Tiny Tim: Crutch, hat, woolen scarf, Ten pence half penny coins in a tin cup)

Kathy: bonnet, woolen scarf



When Giant says: “Come, we must go”, quietly the Cratchit Family and back stage remove Cratchit scene off stage. Giant doesn’t begin dialogue for Scene 9 until everything is off stage.
SCENE 9

(Scrooge’s bedroom/living room)

Off Stage:




Orff instrument to play Three O’clock Chimes

Black book of debts (Tom Jenkins)

Coffin and crate for underneath (Undertakers)


On stage:

After the third bell...Cast begins quietly to walk to front of stage and pose on one knee quietly as Scrooge completes is lines.
SCENE 10

(A street in Cheapside, London)

On Stage:




Tom Jenkins-walk on stage-motioning

Tom will bring undertakers on stage at proper time

Scrooge

Phantom








When dance begins…back stage close the curtains and remove coffin and soup vendor box…and set up the Cratchit Family’s home…and the graveyard.

SCENE 11

(Cratchit’s House)

Phantom points to Stage as Curtains Open

SCENE 12

(The Churchyard)

On Stage:




Bob walks on with flowers in hand for Tiny Tim’s Grave

Cratchit Family is Frozen in Time

When Bob leaves the stage….dialogue ceases..the family leaves stage after Bob.







Then Scrooge continues with Poor Tiny Tim line.

(Scrooge’s Bedroom/Living Room)

On Stage:




Lights come on

Starts dancing around the stage




SCENE 14

(A street in Cheapside, London)

On Stage:




Scrooge looks out a pretend window

While Scrooge is dancing around town getting presents…the Cratchit Family’s house is getting set up with the family set for his arrival for Scene 15.

SCENE 16

Scene begins with cast off stage

Bob-Wife-Family-Cratchit Family-Scrooge and entourage

Down on gym floor, stage center ready to start the Thank You Very Much


On Stage:




While song and dance is taking place…Curtains are closed and the front of the stage is set for Christmas present with decorations for Christmas Present…presents…from Cratchit home and the door to Scrooges home.
