FREDERICK COUNTY MASTER GARDENER DAY

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2015

We all want to eat more, fresh, local foods and what’s more local than produce from your backyard? This year, at the fair, the Frederick County Master Gardeners invite you to take a journey from Garden to Plate and learn ways to approach growing vegetables and herbs in that most local of environments – your own garden. Join us for tips on extending the growing season with old frames and row covers, creating herb gardens in convenient pots and drying your herbs for use all winter long. Children will delight in creating a “Garden in a Glove” to watch the stages of seed germination, as well as make their very own lettuce seed terrarium to take home and eventually plant for autumn salads. There’s something for everyone on our Garden Plate – Join Us
