Professional Dental Whitening Gel- DAY WHITE (shorter day wear whitening)

It is important that you apply the teeth whitening gel properly so you do not waste any of the gel and that you experience the least amount of sensitivity while using the gel.

  1. Prior to Treatment:

Brush and floss just prior to bleaching your teeth. The whitening gel is the most effective with clean teeth. Try the trays in first without any bleach to check the fit and comfort. Make sure the bleaching trays are clean and dry before applying the whitening gel. Moisture reduces the efficiency of the whitening gel and slows down the whitening process.

  1. Applying the Bleaching Gel:

When you apply the gel make sure not to fill the tray. Place a SMALL drop of tooth whitening gel half way up on the inner front surface of the tray (in the front of each in the trays). Do not spread the bleach around. Recap the syringe for the rest of the treatment until empty. The average treatment per arch requires approximately 0.5ml of whitening gel. We recommend that you only bleach the front 8 teeth as the back teeth are less visible and your gel will last longer.

DO NOT OVERFILL YOUR CUSTOM WHITENING TRAY: TOO MUCH GEL CAN CAUSE GUM IRRITATION

  1. Inserting the Bleaching Trays

Insert the whitening tray in the mouth over the teeth. Seat the tray firmly against the teeth. Wipe the excess gel, which seeps over the brim of the tray onto your gums (hold the tray up with one hand; wipe the excess gel off your gums with a tissue). Bubbling within the trays is normal. Wear the tray with the gel as directed below.

  1. Treatment time

Trays are to be worn for 1 hour per application of gel. Trays can be worn for up to twice a day for 2 weeks for optimal results.

  1. After Whitening

Remove the tray and rinse with cold water. Brush your teeth to remove any remaining gel. Brush, floss and continue routine dental cleaning. Put sensitive toothpaste on your teeth and leave on if feels sensitive.

  1. Caring for your Trays and Gel

Clean whitening trays with toothpaste and cold water. Store trays in the tray holder and gel in a cool dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. The gel may be refrigerated to prolong shelf life, but do not freeze.

  1. Post Treatment

Avoid staining foods, drinks and tobacco for 30mins after treatment. Continue with a good oral hygiene routine.

Expectations-Results vary from patient to patient. Anatomy, age, tooth condition hygiene and starting shade have an impact on the end result. Please note crowns, bridges and tooth coloured fillings do NOT whiten and may require replacement following the whitening procedure.
