Enabling Correct Date format for WCM 60x

Follow these steps to set-up the new language:


  1. Change the locale on the Web Browser to “en”





  1. Import the xml to create the language.

    1. Create an xml file with the following contents

    2. The contents in bold are the important stanzas

    3. Go to the Portal Administration -> Portal Settings -> Import XML

    4. Select the xml you created and click import

Note: The full xml file that should be imported can be found as another attachment. Eg. CreateAULocale_6000.xml
Also make sure you change the version of Portal that you are using on this stanza

  1. Go to the global settings Portlet and select the new language

    1. Log in to the portal administration

    2. Navigate to Portal Settings -> Global Settings

    3. Select “Australia” from the list





    1. Click “save”

    2. Message will say that you will need to restart the server, this is an optional step

  1. Change the browser locale to “en-au” for Australia

    1. Change the locale to Australia





    1. Refresh the global setting page

    2. You should now see that Australia is set to be the Portal default language.





  1. Verify that the WCM date format is ok.

  2. Go to the WCM Authoring Portlet

  3. Create a new date and time component




  1. Select the date




  1. Notice that the format of the date is now in the locale specific format.
