Stockholders Meeting Jan 12, 1950
The annual Stockholders meeting was called to order by the president with (25) twenty-five stockholders present.

Motion was made and seconded to accept previous Stockholders, Special Stockholders and Directors minutes as read. Carried.

Managers report was read and accepted.

The Finance Committee reported that they found managers books correct.

Motion made and seconded to buy Second hand Huller Type Gin machinery provided same is found in good order and same was left up to the directors. Carried.

Motion made and carried to raise the platform at Gin, so it will be easier to load cotton.

All Directors and Finance Committee men were nominated and elected by acclamation.

No further business the meeting adjourned by paying the 10% dividend checks.

Directors Meeting Jan 12, 1950


The directors meeting was called to order by the president with Willie Kieke, Gus Draeger, R. A. Fuchs, E. T. Neutzler, L. F. Knipstein and manager H. C. Wehring present.

Motion was made and seconded to pay H. C. Wehring $75.00 for scale at Mill House. Carried.

Motion was made and seconded to charge Kessler’s $10.00 per year for parking their cars on vacant lot with the authority when a show or any amusement attractions that rents lot that they provided adequate room for same. Carried.

It was again discussed to issue credit slips for wholesale meal and Hulls for this year.

Motion made and seconded to pay hand according to the wage and hour law and Hire manager for $1.00 per hour for repair labor, 50 cts additional for each bale ginned over 16 bales and ½ of 1% commission for handling seed. Carried.

No further business the meeting adjourned.

The Directors met at Miller’s Machine shop on above date and decided to buy Huller Type Gin machinery, and Trade in our old Gin saws that are good for an allowance of Thirty cts (30 cts) per saw. Carried.

The Directors meeting was called to order by the president with the following present R. A. Fuchs, Gus Draeger, Willie Kieke, E. T. Neutzler, Ed Eberhardt, L. F. Knipstein and the manager, H. C. Wehring.

Motion was made and seconded to install new pistons and rings and all nessary [sic] repairs on Engine. Carried.

Aug 12, 1950 Directors Meeting


The Directors meeting was called to order by the president with all directors present.

Previous minutes were accepted as read.

Motion made and seconded that by written agreement, H. C.. Wehring, Mgr. of the Burton Farmers Gin Ass’n Inc. be authorized to secure a loan from time to time from Burton State Bank when nessary [sic]. Carried.

Motion made and seconded to charge for Ginning same price as last year $3.50 for Bagging and ties and $1.30 cwt for lint cotton and give each customer 20 cts discount per bale for cash. Carried.

Motion made and seconded to see the Fire Insurance Co, for cheaper rate if we Install Rotary or Electric pump and same was left up to the manager to find out the cost of same. Carried.

The four (4) 500 gal capacity and the cost of Huller type Gin machinery so far $4790.12.

Motion made and seconded to let the Burton Fire Department have their water to fill their tank at Gin. Carried.

The Stockholders meeting was called to order by the president with 17 present.

Motion was made and seconded to buy a electric pump and same to be used by the Burton Fire Dept. in case of emergency. Carried.

Motion made and seconded to buy a sterilizer to fumigate cottonseed. Carried.

The Thirty-Eighth stockholders meeting was called to order by the president with (21) members present.

Previous Stockholders, Special and directors minutes were accepted as read.

Managers report was read and accepted.

The Finance Committee reported that the found managers books correct.

Motion made and seconded to raise the price of milling corn meal 5 cts per cwt and corn cobs 10 cts per cwt. Carried.

Resolution of respect of A. J. Neutzler was read and accepted.

Motion was made and seconded to elect directors and Finance committee men by acclamation. Carried.

Motion was made and seconded to adjourn. Carried.

Jan 11, 1951 Directors Meeting


The Directors meeting was called to order by the president with R. A. Fuchs, E. T. Neutzler, L. F. Knipstein, Willie Kieke, Ed Eberhardt, Gus Draeger and the manager H. C. Wehring present.

Motion was made and seconded to raise the price of weighing 25 cts to 35 cts for small trucks and trailers, and for large trailer trucks from 50 cts to 60 cts. Carried.

Motion was made and seconded to buy truck from H. C. Wehring for the amount of $500.00. Carried.

Motion was made and seconded to hire manager on same terms as last year. Carried.

Note was given to H. C. Wehring for $500.00 Int rate of 3%.

RESOLUTION OF RESPECT IN MEMORY OF
MR. A. J. NEUTZLER
This resolution of respect was offered and unanimously adopted by the stockholders of the Burton Farmers Gin, Incorporation, at their annual meeting.

WHEREAS, on January 19, 1950, Mr. A. J. Neutzler passed to his reward; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Neutzler served as secretary for the year 1917-1918 and as a director from 1918-1919 and was a member of the Finance Committee for this years 1922-1926, and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Neutzler was held in high esteem and all that knew him honored and respected him as an honest and faithful servant; and now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED That we adjourn from this meeting today in solemn respect to the memory of A. J. Neutzler; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the secretary spread a copy of this resolution on the minutes and that a copy be sent to the family of the deceased.

Directors meeting was called to order by the president, with all directors present.

After thoroughly discussion of painting the Gin House it was decided not to paint same. Carried.

Directors Meeting July 21, 1951


Directors meeting was called to order by the president, with all directors present.

Previous minutes were accepted as read.

Sterilizer for Pink Bollworn was installed at a cost of $881.50 plus extra installation charges.

It was agreed that the manager secure a loan from bank from time to time when necessary.

It was further agreed to buy parts for Bessmer [sic] Engine from Beckmann at Sealy as cheap as possible. Carried.

Gin prices for Ginning cotton was agreed to charge according to our nearest competitor or according to the O.P.S. ruling which allows us a 6% increase above last year.

The following directors met at H. C. Wehrings residence on above date were R. A. Fuchs, Gus Draeger, E. T. Neutzler, Willie Kieke and manager H. C. Wehring.

After discussing the Beckmann Bessmer [sic] Engine at Sealy, it was agreed to buy same for the cost of $600.00. No further business the meeting adjourned.

Thirty Ninth Stockholders Meeting was called to order by the president.

The Roll Call Indicated that (23) Stockholders were present.

Previous minutes of the Stockholders, Directors meeting Managers report and Finance Committee Report were accepted as read.

Motion made and seconded to sell scrap iron from the Knipstein Gin and save parts that are usable from same in order to reduce fire Insurance. Carried.

Motion made and seconded to set extra Milling Day when needed and same was left up to the manager. Carried.

Motion made and seconded to paint Gin Building when needed and same was turned over to the directors. Carried.

Motion was made and seconded to re-elect all Directors by acclamation. Carried.

Motion made and seconded to Re-elect finace committee men by acclamation. Carried.

No further business, the meeting adjourned by paying the dividend 10% checks.

Directors Meeting Jan 10, 1952

The Directors Meeting was called to order by the President with all directors present.

Motion was made and seconded to Hire manager on same terms as last year which is $1.00 per hour & 50 cts additional for each bale ginned over 16 bales and ½ of 1% commission for handling cotton seed and all additional 6.00 hands 20 cts extra over 30 bales ginned. Carried.

The Directors Meeting was called to order by the President with all directors present.

Previous Minutes were accepted as read.

Motion made and seconded to make a application for parity price on cotton seed. Carried.

Corn Sheller was purchased for $300.00 also clutch for same for $25.00 from Beckmann Gin from Sealy.

Motion made and seconded to give manager authority to charge for ginning according to next competitor. It was agreed by the directors to charge for the following as = Bagging $3.75, Hand picked cotton $1.35 per cwt. For lint cotton. Bollies $2.10 per cwt, and for Sterlizer [sic] .75 cts per bale.

It was agreed to give customer 10 cts for ginning his own bale carried.

No further business the meeting adjourned.

After discussing the Tips engine with Mr Reuben Krueger from New Ulm, Motion was made and second to buy Tips Engine from Mr Krueger at $400 plus $45.00 freight to be delivered to Burton. Carried.

Jan 8 Stockholders Meeting


The Fortieth Stockholders Meeting was called to order by the president with the Roll Called indicated that (29) stockholders were present.

Previous Minutes of stockholders, Directors and Managers report were accepted as read.

Motion made and second to accept Finance Committee report. Carried.

Motion made and second to leave it up to the directors whether they should buy an after cleaner for Gin and also whether they should Hire Extra Hand to Gin seed cotton at Gin. Carried.

Motion made and second to elect all directors by acclamation. Carried.

No further business the meeting adjourned by paying the dividend checks.

Directors meeting was called to order by the president will [sic] all Directors present except the secretary.

Reynolds Sales Co. of Bryan Texas gave estimate cost of Painting Gin Building as follows:

60 Gals Roof Paint $195.00

$ 236.25

Less 5% for cash 11.80

Total cost $ 224.45

Manager was hired under same terms as last year ½ of 1% commission on seed handling, 50 cts per bale extra when more than 16 bales are ginned, otherwise manager get $1.00 per hr for labor and when 16 bales per day are ginned $1.00 applies. Gin labor 20 cts per bale on hired labor.

Manager to order new drum complete for Hammermill. Carried.

Motion made and carried to put concrete floor at mill room.

Manager is to inquire what it would take and cost to install cleaning system.

Motion made and seconded to charge for ginning for the following, Bagging $3.50, Hand picked cotton $1.35 per cwt for lint cotton, Bollies, $2.05 cwt and for Sterlizer 75 cts per bale.

It also was agreed to give the customer 10 cts for cash and 10 cts for ginning his own bale. Carried.

Directors meeting was called to order by the president with all directors. Mr. Knight and Don Vandive representative of Lummus Cotton Gin Co. of Dallas Texas present.

Cleaning system was discussed and the following price of additional cleaner was made by Dallas Sales, as follows: 1 – 72” – 6 cylinder Hot Air Cleaner with V-Belt Drive and Quick Change Flashing @ 2749.00

1 – 72” Extra Set of flashing $80.00

1 – 47’ Model Rock Catcher 111.00

Total $2910.00

Less 5% cash Discount 145.50

Net Cash $2764.50

Motion made and seconded to have a special Stockholders meeting Sat, Dec 12, 1953, whether we should buy and install additional cleaning system. Carried.
