Profile:
I am an ophthalmologist from Pakistan. I graduated (MBBS) in 1980 from Pakistan. I completed my diploma in ophthalmology (DOMS) from the University of Vienna, Austria. In addition, I completed a Master’s in Community Ophthalmology in December 2006. I also have a professional diploma in hospital management.

I have over 27 years experience as a doctor from which 17 years as an Ophthalmologist. I have also worked in the USA and Saudia Arabia.

I have worked in the United Kingdom in a research project, UK Biobank at Oxford, and at Creative Management Solutions Limited at London.

OBSERVERSHIP in Cataract Service at Moorfields Eye Hospital London for one week.

Recently completed research and the topic of my MSc Dissertation “Evaluation of eye care services in a District (Rawalpindi) Pakistan”.

Since 2005 most of the time I am involved in Management, as a Coordinator in earthquake Disaster and Know I am working as Director Medical Education, Allied Health Sciences, Rawalpindi Medical College and Allied Hospitals. In addition Coordinator to the Principal, Future Vision and Annual Development Program Rawalpindi Medical College and Allied Hospitals.

  • Worked in the teaching department of Ophthalmology in Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Have a vast experience of working independently and with consultants.

  • Worked as senior registrar eye and eye specialist.

  • Completed a professional diploma course in Hospital Management and Administration. Experience in Hospital Administration at the Holy Family Hospital in Pakistan.

  • Epidemiological and clinical research to complete a Master course in Community Ophthalmology. Also learned report writing, proposal writing and have completed a dissertation on evaluation of eye care services in a district. Learned communication skills, planning and policy making.

  • At UK had training in Phlebotomy and started working as Phlebotomist in a Research Project in Biobank UK at Oxford.

  • Performed Traumatic and oculoplastic surgery, repair of the perforations.

  • Have special interest in diseases of lacrimal system. Performed large number of DCRs and DCRs with intubations.



  • Take part in working of Eye bank society and performed Keratoplasties.



  • Have worked in collaboration with International Eye Bank, Colombo, Sri Lanka, Rawalpindi Eye Donors Organization and Al-Shifa trust Eye Bank.



  • Have taken part in the teaching of graduates and post graduate students, also experience of teaching of ophthalmic nurses.

  • Carried out a lot of investigative procedures as ophthalmic ultrasounds, A scan and B scan, Biometry, Fundus Angiography and Visual field test.

  • Arranged and worked in Eye Camps examining hundreds of patients and performing surgery particularly cataracts.

  • Research Programs in Public Health & Community Eye Health.
