Dear Sea Cadet Families:

Congratulations on being selected as a student and welcome to the 2012 Caribbean Region Winter Training, SCUBA Dive School Class PR-01 from 28 December 2012 to 5 January 2013, at USCG Air Station Borinquen, Aguadilla. My goal is insure that you have an exceptional training experience and complete the Open Water SCUBA Certification. This training will utilize the talents of some excellent Sea Cadet, Military and Civilian personnel. Our evolutions will be supervised by a full complement of staff and safety will be paramount throughout the conduct of this training.



Please review the information listed in the Letter of Instruction LOI . This will help insure a safe and positive training experience:

NOTE TO PARENTS: Your cadet is responsible for packing his/her seabag. Please inspect their Seabag for the following items. ALL CADETS MUST BRING A WATER SYSTEM (CANTEEN W/WEB BELT OR CAMELBACK) Items listed in the “required” section constitute the minimum required items for all Students to have prior to participation in SCUBA Dive School training. Failure to have the items on the required section may result in Student being returned home at the family or home unit’s expense.

Personal Field Gear Will be issued to each student upon arrival at training.

Note: Since there will be no laundry service. Cadets may bring additional quantities of whatever item they feel will need more.


Cadets MUST bring their own linen. Two sheets (twin size) no elastic cover, two sheets white. One pillow with white pillow case. One wool blanket gray. The color and material of the blanket is the preferred if it can be found, if not found on gray color bring only solid dark colors ex. Dark blue. Sheets and pillow case should be white.

CONTRABAND
The following items are expressly prohibited (Do not bring) !!!
Cosmetics, Weapons, Controlled substances, NO CELL PHONES Matches/lighters, Pornographic materials, Tobacco products, Electrical appliances, Liquid shoe polish, Alcoholic beverages, Talc/Baby Powder, Perfumes, Candy, gum, food, etc. Glass containers Medical (shelf or prescribed), Aerosol cans (hairspray, shaving cream), Books/magazines (except 1 Religious), Jewelry (except 1 optional religious medal)
