Dear Graduating Student,
Congratulations on reaching this final step in your program at Clark College! The following is an informational letter containing the details and instructions for the commencement ceremony scheduled for

June 16, 2016. If you have not yet signed up to participate in the ceremony but still wish to do so please contact Credential Evaluations in GHL 108 for more information.


CAPS & GOWNS AND HONORS REGALIA: Graduation regalia, caps & gowns and honor cords if applicable, will be distributed in the Bookstore to those students who submitted a cap and gown order form by the deadline. Preordered cap & gown distribution begins on Tuesday, May 31st and ends on Friday, June 3rd. You will receive a cap, gown, name card, and one tassel. You do not need to return the graduation attire. Souvenir tassels are also available at $2.99 each. You must bring your picture ID to claim your order.
Preordered cap and gown packages not claimed by June 3rd will be made available to other students on a first come first served basis June 6-10. Refunds are not available for unclaimed cap and gown packets.
If you are a member of the PTK Honor Society and you have questions regarding their regalia, please visit their website at www.ptk.org.
COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY DVD PRE-ORDERS: A DVD recording to commemorate the ceremony will be available for preorder at the cost of $19.99. DVDs will be available for pickup 2 weeks after the ceremony.
DIPLOMAS: Diplomas and certificates will be mailed to you approximately 6-8 weeks following the end of the quarter in which you complete requirements. Only one diploma is issued for each degree or certificate that is earned. To ensure timely delivery, please notify the Registration Office and the Evaluations Office of any change in address.
GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcement distribution begins Monday, May 2nd at the Grad Fair in the Bookstore. Each graduating student will receive five free announcements. Additional announcements will be available for purchase in the Bookstore at a cost of $0.75 each. Personalized name cards for insertion in your announcements are available by special order through the Bookstore. Samples of design options and pricing will be available at the Grad Fair. The deadline to place your order is May 27, 2016. Allow 5-10 business days for production. Please bring your picture ID.
MANDATORY REHEARSAL: In order to participate in the commencement ceremony, you must attend the rehearsal scheduled on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Sunlight Supply Amphitheatre. Please arrive by 5:45 p.m. You do not need to wear your cap and gown. We will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. and plan to be done by 8:00 p.m.
SPECIAL SEATING AND PARKING: If you or your guest(s) need special seating and/or parking accommodations, please contact Disability Support Services at (360) 992-2314 or (360) 991-0901-video phone only. The deadline to make these arrangements is Tuesday, June 14, 2016.

Parking & main Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Please arrive by 6:30 p.m. to prepare for the processional.


Please be sure to leave personal items in a secure place such as your vehicle. No items will be stored by staff in the Amphitheatre.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE SUNLIGHT SUPPLY AMPHITHEATRE:

Exit 9 - WA 502/NE 179th Street from I-5 North Bound, or

Exit 9 - NE 179th Street from I-5 South Bound

Travel west on 179th Street to the main entrance gates on NW 179th Street.


MEMORABILIA BOOTH: The Clark College Bookstore will be onsite on Thursday, June 16th at the Amphitheatre. Graduation gifts and fresh flowers will be available for purchase. Balloons will not be allowed in the Amphitheatre.
PHOTOGRAPHY: A professional photographer will be on hand to capture your graduation moment. The specific details on how to order these photographs will be announced at the rehearsal on June 15, 2016. Guests are allowed to take personal photographs and video, but they must remain in their seats while doing so.
HONORS: Honors designation will be reflected in the program and on student records. For ceremony purposes, honors status is based on the appropriate GPA of record following the completion of winter quarter. If honor status changes once final grades are processed, adjustments will be made to the student record. All honors regalia will be distributed with the caps and gowns. Please note that there is no “honors” or “merit” designation for Certificates of Achievement

Academic Honors designation is as follows:


Highest Honors: 3.90 – 4.00 College-Level GPA for Associate in Arts

College-Level GPA for Associate in Science

Cumulative GPA for Associate in Applied Science

Cumulative GPA for Associate in Applied Technology



Honors: 3.40 – 3.89 College-Level GPA for Associate in Arts

College-Level GPA for Associate in Science

Cumulative GPA for Associate in Applied Science

Cumulative GPA for Associate in Applied Technology


Merit: 3.40 – 4.00 Cumulative GPA for Certificate of Proficiency


TICKETS: Tickets will not be required for the 2016 Commencement Ceremony.
