The American Association of Endodontists Foundation named four new members of its Board of Trustees during the AAE’s recent Annual Session in Boston.
D. Scott Fehrs, ChFC is known throughout insurance and dental circles as an innovator in insuring dental specialists. He is the CEO of Treloar and Heisel, Inc., and organization that are the exclusive administrators of insurance programs for numerous national and state professional organizations, including the American Association of Endodontists. They represent more than 15,000 medical and dental specialists and has been the AAE’s endorsed insurance administrator since 1979. Mr. Fehrs is a Chartered Financial Consultant whose exceptional performance has been recognized by the insurance industry through membership in Met Life’s President’s Club, Mass Mutual’s Chairman’s Club, Million Dollar Round Table and Top of the Council.
Cameron M. Howard, D.M.D., M.Sc.D., is the first member to hold the new practitioner Trustee position for the American Association of Endodontists Foundation. Dr. Howard works full-time at Great Expressions Dental Centers in Tampa, Fla. He received his D.M.D. from the University of Kentucky, College of Density in 2008 and his Certificate in Endodontics and Masters of Science in Dentistry in 2010 from Nova Southeastern University, College of Dentistry. As a new practitioner, Dr. Howard has published numerous articles and is very involved in organized dentistry. He serves as the chair of the AAE’s Resident and New Practitioners Committee and was the student member of the Regenerative Endodontics Committee. He has received many honors, including the AAE’s Student Achievement Award in 2008, and was recognized by the ADA for his international volunteer service.
Robert S. Roda, D.D.S., M.S., runs a private endodontic practice in Scottsdale, Ariz., and serves as a visiting lecturer at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health and as an adjunct assistant professor at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. An AAE member since 1991, Dr. Roda serves as vice president on the AAE Board of Directors, as an associate editor of the Journal of Endodontics and is a member of the Special Committee to Develop Universal Strategic Principles. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 1998.
Louis E. Rossman D.M.D. has been elected president-elect of the AAE Foundation. He served on the AAE Board of Directors from 2003 to 2010 in multiple capacities, including president. He also currently serves as the chair of the Corporate Relations Committee and the Special Committee on Leadership Training Options and is a member of the Special Committee on Advocacy and the Scientific Advisory Board. In addition to his leadership in the AAE, Dr. Rossman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and has provided guidance and support to the specialty’s certifying board for many years. Dr. Rossman maintains a full-time practice limited to endodontics in Philadelphia and is a clinical professor of endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He received his D.M.D. degree in 1975 and his certificate in endodontics in 1977 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
The American Association of Endodontists Foundation, headquartered in Chicago and incorporated in 1966, is the philanthropic arm of the AAE. As a 501(c)(3) charity organization, its mission is to improve the oral health by securing contributions, shepherding resources and sharing grant funds that support research, generate new knowledge and enhance endodontic education. The Foundation provides the specialty with resources to address needs, meet challenges and realize dreams for the future.
